UK MoD migrating E&AM system to GOLDesp

March 24, 2010

Yeovil, UK – March 24, 2010

Miro Technologies announced today that the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) will move forward with plans to upgrade their current Engineering and Asset Management (E&AM) system WRAM Online to Miro’s commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) package GOLDesp. The migration to GOLDesp will enable the MoD to take advantage of the COTS approach to reduce overall lifecycle program costs and gain access to more of the capabilities of the functionally rich GOLDesp application suite.

In joining the growing GOLDesp user community, the UK MoD will continue to use the unique capabilities of Miro’s products to be deployed in a decentralized architecture, whilst retaining network-centric capabilities to provide Total Asset Visibility for the platform Product Teams and central command personnel to control engineering and airworthiness issues. This is the capability that has been in use for almost a decade and is battle-tested in the forward operating theatres around the world.

“We are delighted that the UK MoD has taken the next step in the journey with Miro to continue to deliver a best-in-breed E&AM solution in support of a large portion of its aircraft fleet,” said Vincent Monteparte, President and CEO of Miro Technologies. “This vote of confidence in our company is a tribute to our track record of delivering value for money and a solid, stable application. Migrating to the COTS path opens up many new and exciting opportunities for the UK MoD to utilize our product portfolio to maximize value and improve aircraft availability, whilst also providing the opportunity for closer integration with industry partners providing Integrated Operational Support (IOS).”

The UK MoD currently employs Miro’s WRAM Online (Work Recording & Asset Management) system to serve as a common management information system, logistics tool, and unit maintenance management tool in support of nearly 600 aircraft and 400,000 rotable assets across three MoD services — the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and British Army. Programs currently supported include: Sea King, Lynx, Apache, Gazelle, Islander and the Army’s Watchkeeper Tactical UAVs.

GOLDesp is in use globally by some of the largest military aircraft manufacturers and support agencies, with the Royal Saudi Air Force being the latest organisation to embrace the benefits of the product. The RSAF operates Typhoon, Tornado, Hawk, C-130s and a range of other military aircraft. Some of the new capabilities being developed for this project will enhance the product for the wider GOLDesp community.

About GOLDesp for Military Maintenance
The GOLDesp Maintenance module provides customers with total control over scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, repair, and system re-purposing. The module enables the deployment of standard operating procedures, ensuring that maintenance systems can be managed in a proactive manner. Maintenance tools are available to schedule and record maintenance actions, control or update configurations, and evaluate maintainability and reliability, right down to the individual component level. Special tools are also available for repair tracking of components through back shops and out to sub-vendors, to capture repair costs and measure and manage each step of the repair process to reduce repair cycle times.
