BCS3-Node Management
(BCS3-NM) allows users to track and manage Transportation
Control Numbers (TCNs), containers, and pallets from the source of
supply to the tactical supply activity. This
capability provides commanders situational awareness of the
sustainment pipeline and a complete assessment of the logistics
situation.
BCS3-NM seamlessly integrates
logistical information elements from the U.S. Army, Air Force,
Navy, Marine Corps, other DoD agencies, and multinational
elements.
BCS3-NM fuses numerous data points from various
systems, i.e., Global Transportation Network (GTN), Joint-Automatic
Identification Technology (J-AIT), In-Transit Visibility (ITV)
Server, and Business Systems Modernization-Energy (BSM-E), all of
which manage various segments of the distribution
pipeline.
BCS3-NM is a web-based,
thick-client, secure system that can be accessed through
the Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router
Network (NIPRnet).
BCS3-NM improves the visibility
of materiel flow through the distribution pipeline, providing
accurate and actionable information to users at transportation and
distribution nodes.
BCS3-NM client communication
occurs through messaging and file transfer protocols ensuring users
have the most current, accurate
information.
CAPABILITIES
Data Fusion
- Gathers, fuses, and correlates logistics
data. Technology enables rapid integration of
new data sources.
Tracking
- Tracks containers, pallets, commodities, and movement of
fuel from origin to final tactical supply activity by using TCNs,
container numbers, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag
numbers, or specified
commodities.
Commodity
Search - Provides capability to filter the flood of
logistics data. User sees only the data that is
desired - to include content level information.
Operational
Views (Op-Views) and Information Display Panels - Filters
data to support local information requirements with customized
operational views and information display
panels.
Automated
Alerts - Provides user definable automated alerts for
tracking shipments.
Logistics
Management - Bridges the tactical and strategic
information gap.
Logistics
Common Operating Picture (LCOP) - Provides the complete
LCOP for all units within the combatant commander's area of
responsibility (COCOM's AOR), allowing for sense and respond
logistics.
Distribution
Management - Manages the distribution pipeline by
exception, establishing parameters on monitored
metrics.
Disconnected
Capability - System designed to operate in poor
communications
environment.
