First Exercise at LOGTECOE TDC Was a Triumph
SAN DIEGO, CA Sep. 10, 2007 A select team of Tapestry Solutions’ software, logistics and combat theater experts were recently assigned to support the training of U.S. Marines in simulated command post exercises at the USMC Logistics Training & Education Center of Excellence (LOGTECOE) in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. This team of experts first held a Mini-Exercise to validate that the simulation architecture and network was working properly and that their applications JDLM was stimulating BCS3 correctly. This exercise provided exercise control and the training audience to make last minute adjustments. In addition, over a two-day period in their first logistics exercise the team conducted three vignettes representing distinct phases of the military plan after which the training audience conducted further planning to achieve their objectives for follow-on phases.
Brian Mulligan, Tapestry Chief, Joint Exercise Branch, Exercise Support Directorate and his staff successfully made a few modifications to the exercise design to accommodate last minute requirements requested from MAJ Ron Rees, Director Tactical Logistics Operations Course, Quantico, VA. In effect, the assimilation of CLC2S into the Marine’s logistics command and control will eventually be integrated into the sim architecture.
Lt. Colonel Jeff Manning, Director of the Tactical Logistics Operations Course, Quantico, VA said, "The exercise was highly successful and effective. In addition, the students expressed it was one of the most challenging exercises they had completed."
Ron Isom, Tapestry Senior Director of Operations and Training stated, "With this success, our next phase is to mix Live and Simulation play with us pulling a live feed back down of convoy movements in the Camp Lejeune local training area. We are very excited about our future integration efforts and the expansion of a developmental center for Marine Log Transformation."
The Marine Corps Combat Support Schools Tactical Decision Center is a facility designed to support the training of students and Marines to enhance their decision making to ensure logistics support to deployed forces, maintain In-Transit Visibility on transportation assets and commodities, manage distribution of logistics support assets, and become familiar and proficient with linked and integrated USMC logistics command and control systems.
