Boeing Subsidiary Tapestry to Provide Engineering Services to US Transportation Command
SAN DIEGO,CA October 27, 2010 - Boeing [NYSE:
BA] today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Tapestry
Solutions Inc. has received a contract to provide software
sustainment, operational support, training, and 24/7 help-desk
support for the U.S. Transportation Command's (USTRANSCOM) Single
Mobility System (SMS) and Coalition Mobility System (CMS). The
two-year contract is valued at $3.49 million, if all options are
exercised.
SMS and CMS were developed by Tapestry's Midwest operating unit
(formerly Federated Software Group) for USTRANSCOM, the U.S. armed
services, all U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) agencies and
coalition partners. SMS provides real-time command and control
visualization, in-transit visibility, force deployment/redeployment
planning and execution. CMS will advance from a joint technology
demonstration to an operational system this year. It provides the
DOD and coalition forces with schedule, workload, mission-editing,
and reporting tools for U.S. and coalition missions and events. The
systems have more than 17,000 users worldwide.

contract."
